MSU proved to be victorious against Michigan this weekend, as women’s tennis sophomore Dora Vastag defeated Wolverine Chrissie Nolan (6-3, 6-1) to capture the singles title Sunday at the Wolverine Fall Tennis Classic in Ann Arbor.

Vastag also paired up with junior Caroline Lay to win the Victors doubles flight title, defeating Michigan’s Jennifer Duprez and Kim Plaushines 8-6. Senior Åsa Lindén and sophomore Kate Thomas took home wins in consolation play of the Maize singles flight, while Lay defeated Plaushines (6-4, 6-2) in Blue singles flight consolation play.

The Spartans are at home Oct. 25-28 to host the NCAA Fall Regional.
