• Abrams Planetarium is offering a program questioning the existence of aliens called “The Search for Life in the Universe,” narrated by Leonard Nimoy. The program runs through Nov. 24, with shows at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $2.50 for students, $2 for children under 12 and $3 for nonstudents.

• The Temple Club, 500 E. Grand River Ave. in Lansing, presents a live jazz, happy hour from 5-9 p.m. with no cover charge. Must be 21 to attend. After 9 p.m., hard rock band Powerface will perform.
