A new student organization will dedicate more than 12 hours this weekend to register students to vote in the Nov. 5 election before the Monday deadline.
The MSU Student Voters Coalition, which registered as a student organization Tuesday, plans to set up booths in the Union and the International Center.
The coalition has just been registered as a student organization and was formed explicitly in order to get students registered and to get out the vote in November, said Landon Bartley, a regional and urban planning graduate student, and member of the group.
Bartley and other members of the coalition will be on the Unions first floor from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Bartley also hopes to set up a booth at the International Center during Campus Center events beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday.
At both locations, students will have the opportunity to register to vote in East Lansing. Information on how to vote and how to obtain absentee ballots also will be available.
