A 19-year-old Novi woman reported items stolen from her 1994 Ford Explorer while the car was parked in Lot 38 near Erickson Hall on Saturday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.Between 12:30 a.m. and 9:50 a.m. Saturday, a radio, CD case, parking pass, gas card and CDs were taken, McGlothian-Taylor said.The woman and her friend are unsure if the car door was locked, McGlothian-Taylor said. The items are valued at $265.• A male employee, 23, reported the driver’s side window his 1993 Ford Tempo was smashed Saturday, McGlothian-Taylor said.The incident occurred between 7 p.m. Friday and 1:30 p.m. Saturday after the man parked his car near Linton Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said.The car was locked, McGlothian-Taylor said.The damage is valued at $150. • A Lansing resident reported two garage fires on Joshua Street on Monday, Lansing fire Battalion Chief Robert Labioda said. At 4:58 p.m. about 20 firefighters responded to put out flames in two neighboring garages at 5927 and 5923 Joshua St., Labioda said. The family who lives in 5927 Joshua St. was not home when the fire started in their garage, Labioda said.The rear vinyl house siding of 5927 Joshua St. was melted and two windows were broken. Flames also melted siding on 5923 Joshua St. and damaged a house to the left of 5927 Joshua St.Lansing police are investigating the cause of the fire, Labioda said.Allison Barker
