A female professor, 52, reported two notebooks, five computer disks and research information stolen from the Biomedical and Physical Sciences Building on Friday, MSU police Sgt. Jennifer Brown said.Between 6:10 p.m. Thursday and 7:15 p.m. Friday, the items, which belonged to a graduate student, were taken from the room, Brown said.Police are investigating the burglary.I A female student, 26, reported a fire in the Natural Science Building on Saturday, Brown said.At 7 p.m. Saturday the student left a room where she was preheating an oven to perform a lab experiment, Brown said. When the student came back at 7:07 p.m., the room was full of smoke and flames were coming out of the oven, Brown said. The Office of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Safety responded and determined there was no chemical content in the fire, Brown said. The damaged oven is valued at $250.I A female Lansing resident, 23, reported three tires on her 1996 Mitsubishi were slashed in the parking bays near 1930 Cherry Lane Apartments on Saturday, Brown said.There are suspects and police are investigating the incident, Brown said.The damaged is valued at $100.I A female student, 17, reported her room door on the fourth floor of Butterfield Hall vandalized on Saturday, Brown said. Between 1:30-2:30 a.m. Saturday, a pen hanging from her message board was set on fire, Brown said. The contact paper covering the door also was charred, Brown said.
