An East Lansing female driver struck a female student crossing Shaw Lane near Holmes Hall on Wednesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.Witnesses said the student crossed the street hurriedly to catch a bus and stepped in front of the driver, who appeared to be traveling about 25 mph.After hitting the hood of the car, the student landed on the road. The East Lansing Fire Department transported her to Lansings Sparrow Hospital. She sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries. An Okemos High School student reported stolen golf equipment from Forest Akers Golf Course on Wednesday, McGlothian-Taylor said.The student was practicing with his golf team when he left his equipment unattended in the bushes for about 30 minutes while he searched for golf balls. The bag and its contents, valued at $1,220, were missing when he returned. Police have no suspects. A male employee reported a burglary in Demonstration Hall on Wednesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. A lock was pried open and entry was gained into a roller hockey storage room. A cash register and safe also were pried open but nothing was taken. Damage was estimated at $400 and police have no suspects.
