• A male student, 35, reported a blue and white 2002 three-seat Polaris jet ski, a white 1998 two-seat Kawasaki jet ski and a jet ski trailer were stolen from the parking bays in front of 1540 Spartan Village Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The jet skis were taken between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Monday. The student unhitched the trailer from his friend’s car on Sunday and left the jet ski’s in a parking space.The total value of the jet skis and trailer is $11,200.• A male student, 20, reported a fire in his bedroom at Cherry Lane Apartments Tuesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. Between 12:10 a.m. and 12:25 a.m. an electrical fire was started after a lamp fell off a desk onto shag carpet. It was determined the fire started after a circuit breaker fuse broke. The East Lansing Fire Department responded, but the fire was already put out when firefighters got to the scene. Firefighters ventilated the apartment.The damaged carpet and lamp is valued at $1,095.• A nonstudent male, 29, from Charlotte, Mich., reported a cordless drill and other tools stolen from the first level of the Shaw Lane parking ramp, McGlothian-Taylor said. The tools were taken from a rolling toolbox between Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. and Aug. 29 at 7 a.m. The toolbox was left unlocked and unattended, McGlothian-Taylor said.
