The first of two debates for the three Democratic candidates for governor is scheduled for Thursday.

The first will be at 10:30 a.m. at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. The debate is sponsored by public television and will be moderated by “Off the Record” host Tim Skubick. The debate will air on public television stations statewide at 9 p.m. Friday.

The second will take place at 8-9 p.m. July 22 at WXYZ-TV in Southfield. The debate also will be broadcast on WJRT-TV in Flint, WOTV-TV in Battle Creek, WZZM-TV in Grand Rapids and two Detroit radio stations. It will be moderated by WXYZ anchor Chuck Stokes.
