Peter Bergen, an expert on global terrorism, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Wharton Center’s Great Hall.

The event is free to the public.

Bergen will discuss the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and share his thoughts about Osama bin Laden.

Bergen wrote the book “Holy War, Inc.: Inside the Secret World of bin Laden.” He has been a correspondent for NBC News, CNN, PBS and National Public Radio. He also has conducted interviews in various countries about bin Laden.

The event is sponsored by Wharton Center, the Office of the Provost, the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Social Science and James Madison College.

Bergen also will be at a question-and-answer session and discussion from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Honors College in Eustace-Cole Hall.
