MSU police and East Lansing firefighters responded to a fire at Kellogg Center at about 8 p.m. Friday, Sgt. Randy Holton said. The southeast overhang in front of the building had started on fire, causing $26,000 in damage. Police closed the intersections at Harrison and Michigan avenues and Harrison Avenue and Kalamazoo Street. Police say the fire appears to have been caused by an electrical problem in the neon sign, and foul play is not suspected. There were no injuries. The amount of damage and cause of the fire are unknown. There were no injuries. A female employee reported items stolen from her vehicle Friday, Holton said. The employees 2001 GMC pickup truck was parked in the James B. Henry Center lot. A trunk containing $1,000 in horse supplies was stolen from the trucks bed. Police have no suspects and are investigating. A male student reported his book bag and its contents stolen Friday from his Williams Hall room, Holton said. The bag and its contents, valued at $130, were left unattended in an open room. Police have no suspects and are investigating. An Okemos man reported his wallet and its contents stolen from Forest Akers East Golf Course, Holton said. The man told police he took his wallet, valued at more than $200, out and 15 minutes later noticed it was missing. Police have no suspects and are investigating. An Ortonville man reported his wallet and its contents stolen Sunday, Holton said. The man left his wallet, valued at $60, in a Bailey Hall bathroom. Police have no suspects.Shannon Murphy
