Police have received nine reports of purse snatchings at the East Lansing Meijer, 1350 W. Lake Lansing Road, East Lansing police Capt. Juli Liebler said. The purses have been taken over the last two months from unattended shopping carts, Liebler said. Most of the victims were elderly. Meijer is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a purse snatcher.• A male student reported a window broken Wednesday in his Spartan Village apartment, MSU Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The window was broken by an unknown object, causing $100 in damage. Police have no suspects.• A male employee reported a fire extinguisher stolen from West Holmes Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said. The extinguisher, valued at $45, was stolen between Dec. 1 and Wednesday.
