Womens swimming, diving places 10th in Big Ten Championships

The women’s swimming and diving team (8-5 overall, 1-4 Big Ten) placed 10th at the Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor during the weekend.

Senior diver Carly Weiden won the 3-meter dive and placed third in the 1-meter dive. Weiden earned Big Ten Diver of the Year, while her coach John Narcy was voted Big Ten Diving Coach of the Year for the second straight year.

Junior Kate Duncombe and senior Ildiko Szekely broke school records in the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly, respectively.

The NCAA women’s swimming and diving championships will be hosted by Texas, March 21-23.
