A male student reported his backpack and clothing stolen from IM Sports-Circle on Tuesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student was playing basketball in the gym when a fight broke out. He left the area to avoid a confrontation, and when he returned, his belongings, valued at more than $300, were missing. Police have no suspects.• A female student reported her purse and cell phone stolen Wednesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student left her purse unattended at the Music Building. When she returned, the purse, containing a wallet and cell phone, was gone. Loss is valued at $220. Police have no suspects.Shannon Murphy
