Police briefs 02/12/02

An unidentified man robbed the Ramada Inn, 1100 Trowbridge Road, at 6:57 Monday morning, East Lansing police Lt. Kevin Daley said. The man entered the hotel holding a large knife and demanded money. He escaped with an undetermined amount of cash. Police used a K-9 unit to track him, but he could not be located. The man is a white male in his mid-to-late 30s, he is about 5-feet-7 inches tall, 300 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with Michigan State written across the front. Police have no suspects. • A female employee reported receiving obscene phone calls over the weekend at her office, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The woman received the calls between Thursday and Sunday. Three obscene messages were left on her voicemail. Police are investigating.
