Police briefs 02/06/02

A female employee reported her 2000 Chevrolet on fire, Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The woman’s vehicle was parked in Lot 92, by the Life Sciences Building, when she noticed smoke coming out of the hood. The vehicle’s heated seat had malfunctioned causing $1,000 in damage to the passenger seat, seat belt and door.• Three cars were damaged Monday in the University Club parking lot on Forest Road, McGlothian-Taylor said. The vehicles had windows punched out causing about $450 in damage. All the vehicles were locked and nothing was stolen. Police have no suspects.• A female employee reported two pictures stolen from Wonders Hall’s north lounge. The estimated loss is $100. Police have no suspects.Shannon Murphy
