The Womens Resource Center is sponsoring various events throughout January on issues ranging from health to finances.
Judy McQueen, educational program coordinator for the center, said it tries to provide a variety of topics for the public, including students, faculty and staff. About 10 programs run every month, with topics ranging from aging to lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgendered issues to sexual assault.
The programs are about 40 minutes long, and are open to the public.
McQueen said she thinks its beneficial to take advantage of the programs.
I think its important because so often, when we are working full-time or going to school, we dont have time to find out the latest issues, she said. We try to hear what people want to know and design a program. Some of them repeat, but we try to keep up with whats going on.
We want to offer a quick and informational opportunity for people.
