Friday

• The Campus Center sponsors the Hot Seat Comedy Tour performances at 10:15 p.m. and midnight in the International Center. The show will include a “Make Me Laugh” contest, and cash prizes will be awarded. The event is free for MSU students and $3 for nonstudents.

• The Ten Pound Fiddle Coffeehouse concert series presents Johnny Cunningham and Susan McKeown, a Scottish fiddler and Irish vocalist duo. The show starts at 8 p.m. in Erickson Hall Kiva. • The Landshark, 101 E. Grand River Ave., will be sponsoring a Happy Hour Buffet between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The buffet will include pizza from Poppa Leo’s, wings, subs and vegetables. • Boogie Fever, a local retro band, will perform at The Dollar Nightclub, 3411 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 10 p.m. There is no admission charge for women. Admission for men is $3. For more information call (517)351-2450.

• Calliope and Slumber Party visit Mac’s Bar, 2700 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing. The show starts at 10:30 p.m. Admission is $4. For more information call (517)484-6795.

• The Campus Center will be sponsoring a New Year’s Party and a “Make Your Wishes Come True” contest from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the International Center. The entertainment will include a countdown at midnight and music by DMJ Sounds. Admission is free for MSU students. One guest per student may be admitted with a picture ID. Sunday

• The Michigan Women’s Historical Center and Hall of Fame hosts Century of Women Gallery. The center, 213 W. Main St. in Lansing, is open from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery displays an overview of the progress of Michigan women in the 20th century. Admission is $2.50 for adults and $1 for students. • The Kresge Art Museum presents the Wrapped Words: Handmade Books from Cuba’s Ediciones Vigia exhibition. It concentrates on poetry, short stories, literary criticism and literature for children. The exhibition is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. For more information call (517)355-7631.

All Weekend

• The Campus Center Cinemas will be showing “The Others,” “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” “Hard Ball” and “Training Day” all weekend in Wells Hall.
