Police briefs 01/22/02

A male student reported he and his roommate were assaulted in their Case Hall room early Saturday morning, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student’s roommate answered a knock on the door and both students were assaulted by unknown subjects. The case is under investigation.• An MSU police officer reported damage to his police vehicle Saturday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The officer parked his car in a parking space in front of Bryan Hall while taking a complaint. When he returned there was a two-inch gash to his right front tire. Damage is estimated at $200. Police have no suspects.• A male student reported damage to a vending machine in IM Sports-West on Sunday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The damage, estimated at $100, occurred between Saturday and Sunday. Police have no suspects.• A female university employee reported damage to a utility tub in the East Landon Hall laundry room Saturday, McGlothian-Taylor said. Estimated damage is $250 and police have no suspects.• A male student reported his cell phone stolen at IM Sports-West on Saturday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student was at a dance with his phone clipped to his belt. It is unsure whether the phone fell off or was stolen. Estimated loss is $349 and police have no suspects.
