Center to hold winter events

The Woldumar Nature Center has several programs approaching geared toward family education.

“Winterfest” will be held from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday. Snow or no snow, the family event celebrates the outdoors with crafts, storytelling and guided hikes.

“Whether or not Mother Nature cooperates, there will be plenty to do,” center spokeswoman Anastazia Frueauf said.

The event is free for members and $5 for nonmembers.

The Teeny Trekker Preschool Program continues at 1 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Sessions focus around a children’s book and include a snack, craft and time outside.

“This week we’ll build snowmen and catch snowflakes,” she said.

The program is $5 for members and $6 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is suggested.

The Center, 5739 Old Lansing Road, is an environmental education center. For more information call (517)322-0030.
