A $2,500 laptop computer was taken from a room in Akers Hall on Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A 21-year-old male student was in the room when an unidentified male came into the room asking to use the phone between 8:20 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. When the student wasn’t watching, the male took the computer and left. Police have no suspects.• An unidentified man tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl from Breslin Center on Tuesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The girl was walking out of the basketball game with her father when her father noticed she was no longer at his side. After searching the area, he found her next to a security guard. She explained a man had grabbed her and told her she was his daughter and that she needed to be quiet and follow him. She struggled, kicked the man and ran away. The man is described as a white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a heavy build, a large stomach and blond hair. He was wearing a red T-shirt and jeans and had a silver stud in one ear. Police are investigating.
