  • Michigan artists will exhibit their work at the Lansing Art Gallery, 425 S. Grand Ave. in Lansing. There will be an opening reception tonight from 7-9 p.m. The gallery will be open 1-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Free to the public. For more information call (517)374-6400.

  • Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee’s “Inherit the Wind” will be playing at Boarshead Theater 425 S. Grand Ave., in Lansing, for a third weekend. Shows begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s show begins at 2 p.m. For ticket information call (517)484-7805.

  • Campus Center and the Residence Halls Association present “crazy/beautiful”, “Swordfish” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” this weekend at Wells Hall. Shows are free for students living in residence halls and $2 for the general public. For show times call (517)432-7739.

  • Lansing’s Old Town hosts OctoberFest 2001 Friday and Saturday. The Weepers, SunKing, Famous Ray and others will provide free music. There will be food and drink stands. Concerts will be on Turner Street. Shows begin on Friday at 5 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.

  • Mark Gross headlines this weekend at Connxtions Comedy Club, 2900 N. East St. in Lansing. Shows on Friday and Saturday start at 7:45 and 10 p.m. Admission is $10. Must be 18. For reservations and information call (517)482-1468.

  • Ten Pound Fiddle Coffeehouse presents Robin Laing tonight at 8 p.m. at the Martin Luther Chapel, 444 Abbott Road. Tickets are $5, $7 and $10. Call (517)337-7744.

  • Killer Flamingos take the stage at 10 p.m., tonight at Harper’s Restaurant & Brewpub, 131 Albert Ave. $3 cover. Harper’s Downtown will host the Grand Poohbahs and Terrence Parker. $10 cover. For more information call (517)333-4040. Must be 21 for both shows.
