Weekend Guide

Friday:

Mac’s Bar, 2700 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing will host the bands Novadriver, Boulder, and Kung Pao. The show will start around 11 p.m. There will be a cover charge of $3. Only those 21 and older can attend. For details call (517) 484-6795.

“A Knight’s Tale” will be played outdoors at the Wells Hall/International Center courtyard. The show will start at 10 p.m. Bring your own blanket. Admission is $2 for students, faculty and staff.

Inflatable jousting and other medieval activities will be held at the Crossroads Food Court in the International Center. The activities are from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Admission is free with a valid MSU ID.

Harper’s Restaurant & Brewpub, 131 Albert Ave., will host a DJ. downstairs. There will be a cover charge of $3. The show will begin around 10:30 p.m. Only those 21 and older can attend. For details call (517) 333-4040

Saturday:

The Cutthroats Nine will be onstage at Mac’s Bar, 2700 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing. Two other bands are also expected. The show will start around 11 p.m. There will be a cover charge of $3. Those 21 and older are welcome. For details call (517) 484-6795.

Harper’s Restaurant & Brewpub, 131 Albert Ave., will feature the retro cover-band M-80’s downstairs while the Sprague’s take the stage upstairs. The show will begin around 10:30 p.m. There will be a cover charge of $5 downstairs and $3 upstairs. Those 21 and older are welcome. For details call (517) 333-4040.

A hip-hop dance party with DJ sounds will be held at the Crossroads Food Court in the International Center. The party is from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Admission is free with a valid MSU ID.

Sunday:

The Trillium Gallery, 207 E. Grand River Ave., will host “Home: a group exhibit.” The First Sunday Gallery Walk will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Trillium Gallery will be open from 12p.m to 5 p.m. Featured Trillium artists include Alison Corlett, Martha Brownscombe and Kalli Halpern. Guest artist Gordon Meinhard from Townshend, VT will also be featured. The artists will show work representing their individual interpretation of the theme Home. Mediums include painting, drawing, collage and fiber. For more information call (517) 333-3130.

The First Sunday Gallery Walk kicks off in Lansing at Turner St. and East Grand River Avenue. Look for the balloons and visit Creole Gallery, Ganza!, Grand Cafe Sir Pizza, Otherwise Gallery & Old Town Business & Art Development Association, and Spider House Antiques & Gallery. Friday, Saturday, & Sunday:

The Campus Center Cinemas features “Hannibal”, “A.I.”, and “A Knight’s Tale” at Wells Hall. “Hannibal” showtimes are 7:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. “A.I.” plays at 7 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. “A Knight’s Tale” will begin at 8 p.m. Friday. Saturday and Sunday the showtimes will be 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Admission is $2 for students, faculty and staff.
