An arson occurred in a Holmes Hall mens bathroom Wednesday evening, said MSU Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor. Unknown male suspects intentionally started a fire in a trash can using two newspapers, then came to the front desk to request a fire extinguisher. The fire occurred between 8:10 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. Residence hall and police staff are investigating.l A set of keys and a wallet were stolen from the Hubbard Hall cafeteria Wednesday between 3:20 p.m. and 4:25 p.m., McGlothian-Taylor said. The keys and wallet were later recovered in an employee area. The drivers license of the 18-year-old male student and $45 were not recovered. The case is under investigation.l A clock radio compact disc player was stolen from the office of a Physical Plant employee between 5:30 p.m. Aug. 24 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 27, McGlothian-Taylor said. The door to the 53-year-old female employees office suite was locked. MSU police are unsure if it is connected to the $20,000 worth of computers taken from the Physical Plant Aug. 24. An investigation is pending.
