Police briefs 08/08/01

A 21-year-old female student reported someone entering her home and stealing a large sum of cash, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. Between 3 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, an unknown subject entered her home and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from a box she had placed in a closet. Entry was gained by a window screen, which was pushed in.The case is under investigation.

  • Officers responded to a church break-in Friday at the Holt Assembly of God, 4973 W. Holt Road in Delhi Township, said Sgt. Larry Harrison, of the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department.Suspects broke in and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the office area. Harrison said there have been numerous churches that have been broken into in the area. Some of the cases are related, but it is still unknown if this robbery is related, he said.The department is continuing to investigate.
  • The Lansing Police Department is continuing to investigate the homicide that took place June 23 at Potter Park Zoo, 1301 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing police Lt. Ray Hall said.The department is requesting anyone who was in the park that day to check his or her vehicle, including underneath, for partial fragments of bullets or bullet holes. The police are also asking for anyone who was taking photographs or videotaping at the front of the park to contact them. Anyone in one of the several family reunions at the park that day should also contact their relatives and ask them to call the Lansing Police Department at 483-7600, Hall said.
