Police briefs 08/01/01

A 48-year-old male student’s backpack was stolen July 8 from Owen Graduate Hall.The student left his backpack during breakfast. When he returned, it was gone, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The backpack contained the top front part of his dentures, a cell phone, calculator and other items. The items are valued at $1,080 and police have no suspects.

  • A camp adviser for the Teams of Christ camp had his cell phone stolen between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 25 in his East Akers Hall room. He left his phone unattended for four or five hours, Willis said. When he returned it was missing. The item is valued at $120 and police have no suspects.
  • A 15-year-old visitor for debate camp had her backpack stolen, Willis said. She left her backpack from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in the north side of Campbell Hall. When she returned, it was missing. The items are valued at $115 and police have no suspects.
