Friday

  • The MSU Philharmonic Orchestra and Campus Orchestra perform at 8 p.m. in the Fairchild Theatre in the Auditorium. Admission is free for students, $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens. For more information, call 353-5340.

  • Valley Court Community Center hosts a ballroom/swing dance. The Cafagna Trio will perform Big Band era music. A pre-dance lesson is offered at 7:30 p.m., and the dance begins at 8 p.m. The center is located at 201 Hillside Court. Admission is $2 for the lesson and $4 for the dance. Refreshments are provided.   • The Greater Lansing Ballet Company performs “The Nutcracker Ballet” at 7 p.m. in the Fairchild Theatre in the Auditorium. There is another performance at 2 p.m. Sunday.
