Police identify suspect in robbery

Lansing police officials announced Tuesday that they are seeking a local man who they believe is responsible for the most recent bank robbery in the city.

Terrence Leontha Wallace, 31, is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 194 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Wallace is already wanted on two unrelated charges out of Ingham County; a criminal bench warrant for a probation violation and a second civil warrant.

Wallace has also been known to use the aliases of Terrelyn Wallace, Leontha Wallace, Freddie Scott Dean and Terrance Wells. He is believed to have robbed the National City Bank at 2101 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing. at 9:45 a.m. Nov. 30, Lansing police Lt. Ray Hall said.

“Based on good witness information from customers in the bank at the time of the robbery and surveillance videotape footage released to the media, we were able to get some good strong tips as to who the suspect was,” he said.

The bank robber entered the bank and waited his turn in line before presenting the teller with a note indicating he was armed and requesting an undisclosed amount of cash. After receiving the money the thief left the scene in a stolen car.

The vehicle was located in Meridian Township. Police believe Wallace is still in the Lansing area, Hall said.

“This case has really been coming together for us. Now it’s just a matter of finding the suspect,” Hall said. “We hope that by putting this information out to the public someone will reach us and lead us to where he is now.”

Anyone with information on Wallace’s whereabouts or further information on this crime is asked to call Lansing police Detective Mark Davis at 483-4817 or Crime Stoppers at 483-STOP.
