Three Lansing girls were taken to Sparrow Hospital with stab wounds Monday after a fight in Lansing with three other girls, police said.Two of the girls received only minor wounds but one of the victims, a 13-year-old Lansing girl received several stab wounds. The fight took place at about 4 p.m. at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Williams Street, police said.The fight stemmed from an argument between the two groups of girls last week, Lansing police Lt. Ray Hall said.Sometime during the altercation a knife was pulled. We dont know who did it, were still figuring that out, Hall said.The knife was recovered at the scene and the case remains under investigation.
The Cyclotron building was broken into between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 5:30 a.m. Monday, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.Workers found a window in the rear of the building had been knocked out to gain entry.It is unknown if any equipment or tools from were stolen. Damage to the window is estimated at $100, Willis said.Police have no suspects.A 28-year-old student was arrested at 5 a.m. Monday for assaulting his 25-year-old non-student wife, Willis said.The incident occurred at the couples Spartan Village apartment. The woman told police her husband kicked her and pushed her to the floor. No medical attention was needed, Willis said.The man is being held in the East Lansing jail awaiting arraignment.A parking meter was stolen from campus between Friday and Monday, Willis said.The meter was located in the parking loop near the Administration Building. The pole that once held the meter was left behind, Willis said.Damage is estimated at $200. Police have no suspects.
