Police briefs 11/02/00

A 20-year-old male student reported his car stolen from Lot 89, the commuter lot, at Mount Hope Road and Farm Lane, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The man parked his 1990 Buick in the lot at 7:30 a.m. Monday, but when he went to get the car at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday it was gone.The vehicle is valued at $4,000.

  • A 20-year-old female student had her car broken into while parked in Lot 62 by IM Sports-West between 7 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday, Willis said.When she returned to her car the driver’s side vent window had been smashed and the steering column was damaged in an attempt to start and steal the vehicle, Willis said.Nothing was taken from the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $1,500.SARA LUNEBURG
