Police briefs 11/01/00

A laptop was stolen from the media center in Spartan Stadium between Oct. 14 and Oct. 28, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The laptop belonged to the athletic department and was used to create messages and sounds for the scoreboard during football games. The room it was kept in was locked and secured. There were no signs of forced entry, Willis said.The case is under investigation. The computer is valued at $2,700.

  • An 18-year-old male student reported his moped stolen between Oct. 28 and Oct. 29, Willis said.The Yamaha Razz-style moped had been locked at a bike rack at Wells Hall near the A-wing.The moped is valued at $480. Police have no suspects.
