The academic section of the International Center will be growing higher because of a gift by MSU alumna Delia Koo. The addition will be renamed the Delia Koo International Academic Center, the MSU Board of Trustees decided Friday.

Contributions from Koo, who received her master’s degree from MSU in 1954, will also establish the Dr. Delia Koo Global Faculty, Dr. Delia Koo Global Scholars and Study Abroad Scholars and visiting faculty programs.

“Dr. Delia Koo - who’s a humanitarian, a benefactor and an educator - is finalizing a major gift to Michigan State University,” said Chuck Webb, vice president for University Development. “She has done pioneering work and is the founder of the Volunteer English Tutoring Program providing English tutoring for our international students and their families.
