Righteous Babe recording artist Ani DiFranco brings her emotional folk talent to Breslin Student Events Center at 8 p.m. today.
DiFranco has been singing and playing the acoustic guitar since before she turned 10, and at 20 she produced her debut album and sold it from the trunk of her car. Since then, DiFranco has had the last word on all her albums, merchandise and videos.
Hospitality business senior Kristen Mantovani bought concert tickets Oct. 5, right when they went on sale.
I think its awesome the way she is really into it with every song, she said.
DiFranco will be promoting her latest release, To The Teeth.
Ive always wanted to see her, but Ive never been in the right place and Im excited I finally found the chance to, Mantovani said.
Heidi Smith, cashier at Tower Records-Video-Books, 115 E. Grand River Ave., said tickets sold well .
When they first went on sale, we sold a lot, but I havent really noticed a lot selling recently, she said. The floor is sold out, but there (are) some chair seats still available.
Smith said those tickets are available for $27.50.
DiFranco will be joined by Drums and Tuba, which features a funky blend of rock and jazz.
