Byrum may want recount

As the entire nation waits anxiously for the final tally in the presidential race, some Michigan voters may find themselves waiting to find out who is going to represent them in Congress for the upcoming term.

State Sens. Dianne Byrum, D-Onondaga, and Mike Rogers, R-Brighton, spent months tied in polls during an election year full of tight races. Their battle for the seat ended just as close as it started - Rogers finished with 152 more votes than Byrum.

“We won fair and square,” said John Nevin, Rogers’ campaign manager. “The district is very evenly divided and both candidates were very qualified
