Early men's hoops awards
With my term coming to an end as an MSU men’s basketball beat reporter since the spring, I can’t help but still feel connected to the team.

Fantasy football, week 11
Well, it looks like I struggled with last week’s picks as Greg Camarillo had four catches and Willis McGahee busted out from his slump. Oh well, I went 1-1, so I’m back at it again.
Fantasy football, Week 4
I know there are a lot of teams with byes this week, but a person in one of my leagues picked up San Diego back-up Darren Sproles. Did I miss an injury to LT? All Sproles will do is get six to seven carries to keep LaDainian Tomlinson fresh. If you’re looking for a sleeper at running back this week Sproles is not the answer. Now, here’s this week’s rundown:
Two to start
Rashard Mendenhall — Steelers vs. Ravens. It’s going to be a smash-mouth, grind it to the ground defensive battle. With Willie Parker out with a sprained left knee, expect the rookie to get a lot of carries.
Trent Edwards — Although the Bills have started 3-0, Edwards hasn’t had that great of a fantasy season, throwing an average of 244 yards with one touchdown in each game. But this week he gets the struggling St. Louis Rams. Hello big numbers.
Two to sit
Ben Roethlisberger/Joe Flacco — Obviously, Flacco’s a rookie so he’s probably not starting for you anyway, let alone on your team. Big Ben is a little banged up, and personally I would stay away from any skill players in this game other than Mendenhall.
Vikings D/ST — Minnesota’s defense, especially pass rush, is one of the best in the league. While they may get a few sacks, Tennessee quarterback Kerry Collins doesn’t make many mistakes, meaning you won’t get any easy fantasy points for interceptions or fumbles.
One more chance
Carson Palmer — He’s struggled mightily in the first two weeks, but finally showed a little bit of life with a one touchdown, 286-yard performance last week against the G-Men. He gets the Browns on Sunday, which should be a shoot-out.
Keep him in there
J.T. O’Sullivan — If you’ve been struggling at the quarterback position and managed to pick O’Sullivan up, good for you. Keep him in your lineup this week against a weak New Orleans secondary.
