$14 worth of goods stolen from Sparty’s

Sparty’s Cafe in the Main Library reported about $14 worth of merchandise stolen from its store between 5:17 and 5:55 p.m, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

A bottled beverage valued at $2, pizza wraps valued at $9 and a customer appreciation card valued at $2 were taken.

The suspect is a 20-year-old MSU student. The case still is under investigation.

Questions...

12/04/09 2:17am

1. Why is this dumb story showing up in my iGoogle news feed?

2. Somebody reported a minor theft like this to police?

I worked there 3 years and people would swipe a thing or two here and there without one realizing it on a daily basis. Did they really need to call the cops down to take a report that they’ll never catch anyone for?

3. Why the State News wasted their time responding to a minor crime of things stolen valued at $14?

4. Why I wasted 2 minutes of my life here?

These questions all need answers… I charge whatever journalist took the time to write this to find some answers!

It looks like the police were called because the person was caught in the act…

I really doubt the employees would have known exactly what they stole and their age otherwise.

I’m beginning to think the State News puts the police briefs on the website purely for comedic value. They should replace the comics section with these.

how does 9 2 2 get you to 14…just a thought. And why the hell is this newsworthy

There is no Sparty’s at the main library. The store there is called Cyber Cafe.

My guess is it’s an employee for Sparty’s/Cyber Cafe, well unless someone jumped over the counter and stole them and somehow got away. all the items mentioned are behind the counter at that location.. only the chips are left out…

$14, suspect is a 20 year old student….in a main library at MSU. I wonder who it might be..

Seriously, you should run a follow up on this story with a little bit more information because it sound preposterous to me.

don’t the police/sparty’s management have anything better to do? like focus on running a million dollar business instead of shitting their pants over $13 worth of stuff?
