The East Lansing City Council will appoint a new mayor and mayor pro tem at its 7:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall, 410 Abbot Road.
Current Mayor Vic Loomis and Councilmember Kevin Beard also will be sworn in at the meeting. Both Loomis and Beard were re-elected to their council seats Nov. 3. Loomis has served on City Council since 2001 and Beard has served since 2005.
