The MSU women’s basketball team (8-1) had an offensive explosion in the first half against
IPFW, going into the half leading 40-11 in Jenison Field House.
In her return to the court after a 9-game suspension, sophomore guard Kiana Johnson had
6 points and 4 assists in 12 minutes of play. Sophomore center Becca Mills had 11 points
to lead the Spartans.
MSU went 12-29 from the floor, but hit just 3 of their 13 3-pointer attempts. They also went
13-15 from the free throw line, and limited their turnovers to 4.
The Spartan defense was as solid as ever, holding the Mastodons to just 5-20 shooting.
MSU also outrebounded IPFW 20-12, and were led by junior forward Annalise Pickrel, who
had 5 rebounds, including 3 offensive rebounds.
