Albany got the first bucket of the game Wednesday night against the MSU women’s basketball team, but that was the only time they led as the Spartans went into the locker room leading 46-26.

Junior guard Klarissa Bell led MSU with 14 points and four assists, and also grabbed four rebounds. Albany’s 6-foot-8 center, Megan Craig led the scoring for the Great Danes with 10 points.

Senior forward Courtney Schiffauer hit a pair of 3-pointers and junior forward Annalise Pickrel hit 3 of them as the Spartans went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc.

The Spartan defense was stout as well, as they held the Great Danes to 11-29 (37.9 percent) shooting. They also shot the ball well themselves making 62.1 percent (18-29) of their shots.

MSU dominated the boards snatching 18 rebounds compared to Albany’s 13. Pickrel led the team in rebounding with five.
