The Lansing Lugnuts will be holding Mike Sadler Night in partnership with the Michael Sadler Foundation.
According to a press release announcing the event, Mike Sadler Night will be held at approximately 7:05 p.m. on May 3 at Cooley Law School Stadium.
The event is being held in honor of the late Mike Sadler, a former MSU punter and four-time academic All-American who died in July 2016 in a car crash.
As a part of Mike Sadler night, the first 1,000 attendees will receive a green Lugnuts jersey with Sadler’s No. 3 on the back. The event will also include a silent auction of Lugnuts and Spartan memorabilia as well as an offering of Hey Diddle Diddle, the craft beer created to pay homage to Sadler.
Sadler's mom, Karen Sadler, said in the release she was happy to see the Lansing Lugnuts honoring her son.
“We’re very grateful to the Lansing Lugnuts for celebrating Mike, his accomplishments, and what he meant to the world far beyond East Lansing," Karen said. "His passion for life, his dedication to excellence, and his commitment to treating each person he encountered with dignity and respect will never be forgotten.”
