Kyle Ahrens is out indefinitely after aggravating a stress reaction in his right foot during practice, according to a press release.

Tom Izzo said in a press release on Wednesday that "everyone in the program feels absolutely awful for Kyle."

"When he got hurt there was a cloud over practice because all of his teammates have the utmost respect for him and knew how hard he had worked to get back on the court," Izzo said. "He had a great spring and summer before being injured the first time, and for him to re-injure the same foot is a cruel twist of fate. It's a setback for Kyle, but he's a tough kid and we know that he'll work his way back."

Ahrens sustained his first injury later on in the summer and was out four to five weeks before being able to slowly get back on the court. During media day on Oct. 11, Ahrens said he was only a couple of weeks from being completely cleared.

Ahrens has averaged two points per game so far in his Spartan career.
