Attorney says no timeline regarding MSU football sexual assault investigation

February 14, 2017

The sexual assault investigation involving three MSU football players and a staff member is still ongoing.

Three football players and a staff member were suspended on Feb. 9 pending a sexual assault investigation by the MSUPD and the Title IX Office. The football players were also removed from on-campus housing.

“I do know (MSU Police are) wrapping up their investigation," the victim's lawyer Karen Truszkowski said. "I know that they’re doing a thorough investigation but other than that, they’re not giving me any details and they are certainly not giving me any timeline. They’re being very close to the chest with it.”

The case is currently a criminal complaint and it is pending criminal charges, Truszkowski said.

Truszkowski said she believes arrests will be made following the conclusion of the investigation.

Ingham County Prosecutor's Office and MSUPD could not be reached for comment.
