Republican Donald Trump will become the 45th president of the United States of America.

The State News has published a multitude of articles covering the 2016 presidential election since Gov. John Kasich (R-Ohio) visited Lansing on March 8.

Reporters and photographers were sent to cover the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention, the presidential debates were live blogged by MSU College Democrats and Republicans, post-debate analyses were written and when Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Chelsea Clinton and others visited campus The State News sent reporters to cover it.

Liberal speakers have visited campus more than conservative speakers have.

"College students sway Democrat and are more liberal than the rest of the population," Director of the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research Matt Grossmann said in a previous article from The State News. "It makes more sense for Democrats to come to campus than for Republicans."
