MSU's Student Greenhouse Project won third place in the Student Solar Design Competition.
The design competition is sponsored by MSU and named ten finalists.
Student Greenhouse Project's Solar Gem Biodome design took home a $1,500 prize from MSU.
“The design brings together sustainability and nature right in front of you to enjoy," Student Greenhouse Project Director Phillip Lamoureux said in a press release.
The competition was open to all undergraduate or graduate students from any Michigan collegiate institution.
The design would involve building a biodome as a social spot on campus with tropical weather even in the middle of winter.
"A warm tropical garden to learn and hang out in, will be the new heart of campus during our long winters,” he said.
