Four-star quarterback commits to MSU

April 22, 2015

The MSU football team got some good news just days before the spring exhibition game. Ohio four-star quarterback Messiah deWeaver announced his decision to commit to MSU.

deWeaver is the No. 8 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2016 according to Rivals. On a live ESPN Recruiting Nation "CommitCast", the quarterback chose the Spartans over Michigan, Arkansas, Penn State, Mississippi State and several others.

Last summer deWeaver committed to Michigan but opened his recruitment back up in the midst of a coaching change.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound field general is the third commitment in the class of 2016 for MSU. deWeaver joins three-star offensive lineman Matt Allen and the No. 119 player overall in the class of 2016 according to Rivals four-star wide receiver Cameron Chambers.

deWeaver will be in attendance this Saturday at MSU's spring game, amongst other MSU recruiting targets deWeaver will have his chance to make a pitch to join him.
