After weeks of anticipation, MSU football head coach Mark Dantonio has named senior Andrew Maxwell his starting quarterback for Friday’s game against Western Michigan.
Maxwell is listed as a co-starter on MSU’s depth chart along with sophomore Connor Cook, redshirt freshman Tyler O’Connor and freshman Damion Terry.
Dantonio said Maxwell is expected to split time with Cook against the Broncos and also noted O’Connor and Terry have put themselves “in the mix” with a strong showing in fall camp.
Maxwell started 13 games for the Spartans a season ago and led the team to a 7-6 record including a victory over TCU the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
