Chemistry professor Gregory Baker, 58, died Thursday after collapsing on campus Wednesday evening.
Baker collapsed Oct. 17 at the River Trail near Erickson Hall, and MSU police responded to a 911 call around 5:45 p.m. that evening, university spokesman Kent Cassella said in a statement.
“Officers found two students administering CPR, and along with arriving paramedics, began lifesaving efforts as Professor Baker was taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing,” Cassella said.
Baker died after being brought to the hospital. University officials did not release the cause of death.
Counseling Center resources are available to students, faculty and staff, Cassella said.
