From spaces for tutoring in specific subjects to a room with virtual reality equipment, understanding and utilizing the library is extremely useful to any student at MSU.
“Respecting one another and their beliefs remains the most important thing,” Jain said. “I would love to create an environment that feels like home for the Indian students and a new opportunity to explore for every other individual on campus."
Students and Greek organizations gathered around The Rock on Farm Lane to explore what Greek Life at Michigan State has to offer.
The event was one of the first large-scale university social events of welcome week, and represented what in-person, on-campus events could look like this year.
With move-in came some confusion regarding dorm room placements, with claims that some students who signed up for single rooms were placed in doubles.
Michigan State University has prepared several activities to welcome Spartans back to campus.
"In actuality, MSU doesn’t have any sort of obligation to help us," Chase Maples said. "We are the ones who signed contracts, right, we are the ones who signed the leases. But on the other hand, we also had signed that not expecting there was going to be a global pandemic, expecting that we were going to be going to go to school full-time with in person teaching."
"My hope is that this class of 2024 will be remembered as the class that overcame," ASMSU President Abii-Tah Bih said. "My hope for this class is to remember that this Spartan nation is not just the sum of its parts. Instead, we are a true melting pot. We defy all hints of defeat, and we commit to uplift each other."
When COVID-19 hit home, performing arts students lost out on face-to-face acting classes or key coaching with their instruments. Because in-person contact is such a pinnacle in these students’ education, their daily lives and passions were affected ina. unique way.
