Sweet Lorraine’s will be located on Grand River Avenue near Bailey Street. The location was previously Wanderer’s Teahouse and Cafe. The building’s owner, Loren Perry, said construction is on-schedule and running smoothly. Perry said the goal is to finish by August 15.

City Council discusses potential Showroom Shine apartment additions
A request to construct a three-story addition onto the existing detail shop at Showroom Shine car wash at 248 West Grand River Avenue was discussed at Tuesday night's East Lansing City Council work session.Showroom Shine President, Owner and Operator Mark Sprinkel BW said the addition would contain a total of nine one-bedroom apartments, with three apartments on each floor. Each of these apartments would have a balcony.

The victim was visiting a residence on Weber Drive when another man came to the residence and started beating him with a baseball bat. The victim was able to get escape the suspect on foot. He was transported to Sparrow Hospital to treat his serious injuries.

New bill could allow for regulation of medical marijuana dispensaries, edibles
One bill would let municipalities allow and regulate medical marijuana dispensaries within their jurisdiction. The other bill would legalize and regulate cannabis-infused products, such as edibles and oils.

Measure to decriminalize marijuana eyes November ballot
The petition would allow voters to decide on marijuana reform similar to what Lansing voters enacted last year, which allows for the use, possession or transfer of less than one ounce of marijuana on private property for those age 21 or older.
