NEDA week raises awareness on the mental and physical illness

SEBA partnered with the Food and Nutrition Association, the Student Health Advisory Council and MSU Health Promotion to run some events during NEDA week. The week of February 22-28 is National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (#NEDAwareness), and the purpose of this week is to raise awareness on eating disorders by educating the public, giving hope and spreading lifesaving resources.

Pet owners discuss the mental health benefits of furry companions

Marie Hopfensperger, an assistant professor at the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine, said that having a pet comes with both physical and social/emotional benefits, especially in this pandemic where a lot of people are feeling socially isolated. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, studies have shown that “pets can increase fitness, lower stress, and bring happiness to their owners.”

MSU alumna to bring back MSU Black Book

The Black Book was created by Former MSU Professor Jasmine Lee and four undergraduate students — Triniti Watson, Alexis Frederick, Alexis Wright and Jazmyn Bradford — created the Black Book in 2018, when Watson was a sophomore.

Had he thrown caution out the window and bought in at the $30 point, Business sophomore Jeremy Stevenson said he could've seen a 1000% return. However, Stevenson typically does options trading rather than buying stocks outright, which he said could've made him a millionaire from the GameStop squeeze.
