The 'privilege of protest': MSU experts discuss the accessibility of activism

Natural disasters stemming from climate change, the Israel-Hamas conflict, the overturning of Roe v. Wade and many other issues have set the stage for activist groups to fight for their views to be recognized. According to Michigan State University Sociology Professor and activist Dr. Stephen Gasteyer, social and demographic availability prevent certain people from being the activists they might aspire to be.

The last class of MSU swimming graduates, erasing the face of the varsity sport off campus

With the last class of swimmers graduating, the proof that the sport existed as a campus, varsity sport, is wiped off the face of the university.

After 30 years, MSU student returns to campus to finish degree

Tina McGinnis dropped out of MSU in 1990 to support her family after a drunk driver killed her father. For most of her adult life, when she would hear MSU's alma mater "MSU Shadows," she would cry because it reminded her of a "missed opportunity." In spring 2023 McGinnis returned to MSU to finish her degree and will graduate on Saturday, April 27.
